CHIMAYO, N.M. (AP) — An evacuation order around a 20-acre wildfire near Chimayo, N.M., has been lifted.
The New Mexico State Forestry Division said the fire Sunday forced residents to flee some mobile homes and some homes along Highway 91 in northern New Mexico. But officials lifted the evacuation order after crews worked on hot spots and smouldering trees.
Officials also said about 100 homes were threatened.
Investigators believe the fire was deliberately set but no arrests have been made.
No injuries were reported.
